NWMI members present in strength among Laadli Media Award winners

NWMI members were present in good number among the winners of the Eighth Laadli Media & Advertising Awards for Gender Sensitivity (southern region) 2015-16 held on April 10, 2017, in Hyderabad.

The Laadli awards were announced by Population First with the entertainment channel Colors Viacom 18 and UNFPA India with its collaborating partner BHUMIKA.


Laadli 2017 award Kavitha Telugu
Katta Kavitha from Nava Telangana won in the category of print feature in Telugu, for her article “Nalupe Andam”
Laadli 2017 Beenu Malayalam
K A Beena from Kerala Kaumudi won for her article “Daily Nooru Nooru Kaseraka” in Malayalam.
Laadli 2017 Sugitha Tamil
K S Sugitha from Uyirmmai Magazine won in the category of Tamil print feature for her article “Pengalin Athikaramum Arasiyalum”
Laadli 2017 Makepeace
Makepeace Sitlhou, freelance journalist based in Bangalore, won in the category of website article in English for her article published on www.theladiesfinger.com , “What Manipuri Women are doing for the Protests. What the Protests could be doing for Manipuri Women”
Laadli 2017 Thulasi Telugu
Thulasi C from ABN-Andhrajyothy won in the category of investigative story in the Telugu electronic media, for “Antaraani Batukamma” as well as in the category of best feature in the Telugu electronic media for “Badilo mettela savvadi”
