Communication
for Development and Learning, a Bangalore-based
NGO is conducting a four-day residential training
programme from 15 to 18 July 2006 for mid-career
journalists on health journalism in partnership
with Internews Network, International Centre for
Journalists, Washington, and Panos, London. The
programme is fully funded with support from Bill
and Melinda Gates Foundation, Knight Foundation,
and Open Society Institute.
The course is open to media professionals who:

Cover issues related to health
-
Have at least five years of media experience
as working journalists, or freelancers

Have a special interest in covering health issues
-
Possess strong writing skills in English
The
training will be conducted at Vivekananda Girijana
Kalyana Kendra, an organisation working for the
past 25 years on rural and tribal health, located
in BR Hills, Karnataka, South India. All costs,
including travel, boarding, lodging, and course
materials will be covered.
