Divya A awarded the Sanskriti-Prabha Dutt Fellowship
Divya A, special correspondent, The Indian Express, Delhi, has been awarded the Prabha Dutt Fellowship for Excellence in Journalism for 2013-14. The subject of her fellowship is: ‘Research on the lives of the children of sex workers living in Delhi's infamous GB Road’.
Divya A has written extensively social and developmental issues for The Indian Express, the India Today Group, The Tribune and Khaleej Times. She has a bachelor’s and a post-graduate degree in English literature, and a post graduate diploma in mass communications and journalism. Currently, she is pursuing a course in creative writing from the Oxford University, UK.
The Prabha Dutt Fellowship is organised and conducted under the auspices of Sanskriti Pratishthan, New Delhi. The Sanskriti-Prabha Dutt Fellowship has been instituted to honor and perpetuate the memory of late Ms Prabha Dutt whose bright and promising career as a fearless journalist with The Hindustan Times and India Today was cut short. The fellowship of Rs 1,00,000/- is to encourage dedicated women journalists in the age group of 25-40 to pursue meaningful projects including research or a book in English, Hindi or any regional language.
